Sixty-nine local brands were included in the first batch of excellent products of Jinan, capital of East China's Shandong province, as revealed at a news conference held by the Information Office of the Jinan Municipal People's Government on July 31.
Among the selected enterprises, 55 are national high-tech companies, 13 are national specialized and innovative enterprises, and 26 are Shandong provincial specialized and innovative enterprises.
Leveraging these leading brands, Jinan, known as "Quancheng", or "the city of springs", aims to nurture 50 new brands annually to join the prestigious "Quancheng Excellent Brands" lineup. By 2025, the number of "Quancheng Excellent Brands" is expected to exceed 100.
In recent years, Jinan has prioritized high-quality and brand development. Initiatives such as the implementation of the "quality leading city" strategy have propelled Jinan towards establishing a high-quality brand development system.
The selection process for the "Quancheng Excellent Brands" involved a rigorous evaluation across seven stages, ensuring the brands' excellence and alignment with the "Shandong Excellent Brands" initiative. Notably, 44 of the selected entities are associated with Jinan's four key industries, showcasing the city's industrial prowess and specialization.
Looking ahead, Jinan plans to enhance the influence of "Quancheng Excellent Brands" by focusing on brand storytelling, expanding its market presence, and fostering competitiveness. The city aims to cultivate 50 new brands annually, emphasizing a matrix-based approach to drive production, consumption and tourism.
Furthermore, Jinan will continue to support enterprises in improving their brands. By 2025, the city aspires to break through 60 international standards and foster innovation platforms to propel traditional industries towards green and low-carbon transformation.
