The inbound tourism market in Guilin continues to heat up. Guilin Liangjiang International Airport is also where the 72-hour transit visa exemption policy applies. The airport's Overseas Guest Payment Service Center integrates services such as tourism promotion, consumption guidance, and payment experiences and is equipped with two electronic map navigation screens.
On-site screens and display stands are utilized to convey information in both Chinese and English. The services provided include promoting policies on payment services, offering consultation guidance, and providing service instructions tailored to the needs of foreign tourists.
They can also provide guidance on accessing various payment services and their usage processes, as well as offer navigational maps for key tourism consumption areas in Guilin, tourism and airport vendors. This helps foreign tourists gain an understanding of the tourism and payment situation in Guilin from their initial point of entry.
"We can teach foreign tourists how to link their bank cards to WeChat Pay or Alipay, so they can conveniently make purchases in China without cash," explained a staff member. They have service guide commissioners to ensure the service center provides "manually-assisted + self-service" 24-hour uninterrupted service.
The airport also features a bank branch for currency exchange, two self-service ATM machines, and an authorized currency exchange service specifically for foreign tourists. To cater to the needs of foreign tourists, the currency exchange service now supports cash withdrawals in both 100 yuan ($13.83) and 10 yuan denominations, accommodating the demand for "100 yuan + 10 yuan" cash withdrawals.
