A total of three counties in Ordos made the list of China's top 100 counties, according to information from the 2024 County Economic Innovation and Development Forum held in Beijing on July 31.
The listed counties are Juungar Banner, Ejin Horoo Banner and Otog Banner, ranking 41st, 47th, and 98th, respectively.
This year's selection criteria for the top 100 counties maintained its focus on two core indicators: regional gross domestic product (GDP) and general public budget revenue. To qualify, counties needed to achieve a GDP of at least 60 billion yuan ($8.22 billion) and general public budget revenue of at least 2 billion yuan.
The evaluation encompassed four key dimensions: economic strength, growth potential, affluence, and development quality and efficiency.
Additionally, it considered 27 specific indicators, including economic scale, development level, investment intensity, innovation vitality, and income levels.
