Li Fushun's ongoing exhibition at the National Art Museum of China is a display of dozens of ink paintings derived from his extensive travels around the country over the years.
His brushwork exhibits a refinement developed since younger days. Li is able to layer the varying shades of ink on paper to vividly capture scenes of mountains and rivers. He has also retained the poetry and distance of the tradition of literati painting.
A special section is dedicated to Li's paintings of the landscapes of Hainan province where he has lived and worked for years.
The exhibition runs until Aug 3.
