Recently, a flying car named Traveler X2, developed and produced by Xpeng Aeroht, took off in the low-altitude airspace of Guangxi. The flight occurred at Hechi Jinchengjiang Airport, Hechi Garden Expo Park, and the central square in front of the municipal government.
Hechi is the first city in Guangxi where Xpeng Aeroht signed a contract and the country's first prefecture-level city government to reach a strategic cooperation agreement with the company. Xpeng Aeroht is the largest flying car company in Asia and has previously signed contracts for nearly 60 flying car experience sites nationwide, with nearly 20,000 test flights conducted.
Qiu Mingquan, deputy head of Xpeng Aeroht, stated that Hechi, known nationwide as the "home of longevity," boasts abundant tourism resources, which will facilitate the implementation of a series of applications such as low-altitude tourism in the future.
Additionally, Hechi has prominent advantages in non-ferrous metals, providing a strong foundation and support for the company's future development in the low-altitude industry and establishing a flying vehicle production chain.
"An even more important reason is the forward-looking layout of the Hechi municipal government on the low-altitude economy, which greatly boosts our confidence." He added.
In the first half of 2024, Hechi city received 30.6194 million domestic and foreign tourists, with total tourism consumption reaching 32.49 billion yuan ($4.49 billion). With its abundant tourism resources, Hechi offers more excellent room for imagination in the future practical applications of flying cars.
