Tai'an's GDP in the first half of this year reached 180.06 billion yuan ($24.82 billion), a year-on-year increase of 5.9 percent, according to the Tai'an Statistics Bureau on July 26.
During the same period, the added value of Tai'an's industrial enterprises above designated size increased by 8.9 percent year-on-year. Among the 37 major industries, 27 achieved year-on-year growth.
Tai'an saw 65.29 billion yuan in consumer goods sold, a year-on-year growth of 7.6 percent.
Meanwhile, governments at all levels in Tai'an offered consumption coupons worth 9.25 million yuan in total, leading to a consumption of 530 million yuan.
The value of online retail sales reached 7.69 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth rate of 15.7 percent.
The foreign trade value of Tai'an hit 25.34 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth rate of 30.4 percent, ranking second in Shandong province. Specifcially, exports amounted to 21.42 billion yuan, up 29.8 percent, while imports were 3.92 billion yuan, up 33.7 percent.
Tai'an's general public budget revenue reached 15.94 billion yuan, marking a year-on-year increase of 5.5 percent.
Tai'an's construction industry also saw strong growth, with the city's total construction output value reaching 57.73 billion yuan in the first half of the year, a year-on-year increase of 8.3 percent.
