The Sunan Shuofang International Airport in Wuxi's Xinwu district achieved remarkable growth in cargo traffic during the first half of the year. The airport's cargo and mail throughput reached 78,200 metric tons, a 33 percent increase compared to the previous year.

The number of international cargo flights set a new record, peaking at 15 flights per week during high-demand periods. One of the standout achievements is the significant 40.3-percent increase in cargo exports on DHL's flights from Wuxi to Leipzig, Germany.

In April, the airport launched a direct all-cargo flight route to Mexico City. By June 30, the route had successfully operated 37 flights, with cross-border e-commerce cargo exports totaling 2,025.2 tons. This has provided robust logistical support for cross-border e-commerce businesses in Wuxi and surrounding regions by substantially improving air logistics efficiency to Central and Latin America.

Additionally, the frequency of cargo flights to Seoul has been increased from four times a week to daily. This enhancement benefits local enterprises, such as SK Hynix and Hi-Tech Semiconductor.

Catering to the needs of international express and cross-border e-commerce, the airport offers detailed business handling guidelines and a streamlined cargo declaration and customs clearance system. This has ensured a safe, efficient, and convenient environment for clients, helping foster long-term, stable partnerships.

An official from the airport stated that future plans include further advancing intelligent infrastructure and collaborating with Wuxi Customs to enhance the connectivity of air cargo data. The aim is to develop a more influential logistics hub with increased reach.
