In 2024, coinciding with the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France and the 10th anniversary of the establishment of sister city relations between Xiamen and Nice, the joint launch of the Xiamen-Nice Film Cultural Exchange Exhibition signified the vitality of Sino-French relations.
Representatives from the Nice Municipal Government warmly welcomed the Xiamen delegation, showcasing Nice's unique charm and expressing confidence in the cities' potential for deep cooperation.
Subsequently, the Xiamen delegation cordially invited people from around the world to the annual Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival in Xiamen, illustrating a shared vision for enhanced collaboration in film and culture between the sister cities.
Following the opening ceremony, the Chinese original animated film Chang An was screened as the opening film. It depicts stories of the "Immortal Poet" Li Bai of the Tang Dynasty (618-907) and won the Best Art Film award at the 36th Golden Rooster Awards. The film's insightful depiction of Chinese traditional culture captivated the French audience.
From July 16 to 18, the Fujian-produced films Ping-pong of China and He is My Brother will be presented at the Pathé Masséna cinema in Nice, showcasing the cultural and scenic splendor of Fujian.
