The Yangtze River Delta region is enhancing inter-provincial services, with 173 new initiatives introduced to streamline administrative processes across Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Anhui.
One highlight is the Newborn One-Stop Service, currently in its final testing phase. Soon, families with newborns in the YRD will be able to handle birth certificates, vaccination records, and birth registrations entirely online, eliminating the need for inter-province travel.
This initiative exemplifies the YRD's integration efforts. In 2024, the national strategy for YRD integration entered its second five-year phase. During the recent Sixth Yangtze River Delta Integration Development High-Level Forum, 10 key projects were unveiled, covering travel, healthcare, social security, culture, and government services, benefiting over 200 million residents in the region.
Since the launch of the YRD One-Stop Government Service in May 2019, the region has introduced services such as medical insurance transfers and inter-provincial household registration. Additionally, 40 types of electronic certificates are now shared and recognized across the region, with over 915 million data exchanges to date.
These developments underscore the tangible benefits of the national integration strategy, now increasingly supported by digital technology.
