Guiyang city and Gui'an New Area are enhancing the quality of life of their residents through people-centered reforms.
These are focusing on essential aspects like education, employment, housing and healthcare.
Their "Spring Breeze Action" program for employment and entrepreneurship has been deemed to be a significant success, with over 160,000 job postings from more than 100 job fairs boosting local development.
In April, Guiyang initiated a key affordable housing project in Baiyun district's Yunxinyuan community, which will offer 615 new homes to address housing challenges for urban wage earners.
Additionally, a collaboration with Hunan Normal University aims to establish a high-quality school in the Gui'an New Area, improving educational opportunities there.
Healthcare reforms are also a priority, with Guiyang now hosting four national regional medical centers – including the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University's Guizhou branch.
These centers are said to enhance access to quality medical services for residents.
What's more, the 15-minute living circle initiative – with shops, amenities and other key services within a quarter-hour walking radius of communities – has created 140 new zones across the city, including elderly care service circles. They're all much like the one at Yu'an sub-district, which provides comprehensive day care and rehabilitation services.
Overall, the reforms are widely appreciated as reflecting Guiyang and Gui'an's commitment to improving public welfare and living standards.
