In the first half of the year, the total GDP of Sanya reached 494.46 billion yuan ($67.98 billion), a 4.5 percent year-on-year growth rate when calculated at constant prices. This growth rate increased by 1.4 percentage points compared to the first quarter, surpassing the provincial average by 1.4 percentage points.
Overall, Sanya's economic performance in the first half of the year demonstrated steady progress. Specifically, the value added in the primary sector was 67.39 billion yuan, marking a 4.5 percent increase; the secondary sector saw an increase to 64.65 billion yuan, reflecting a substantial growth of 25.4 percent; and the tertiary sector's value added reached 362.42 billion yuan, with a 1.6 percent growth rate.
Agricultural production maintained steady growth, while industrial growth surged significantly. The total output value of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, and fishery in the city reached 112.22 billion yuan, a 4.7 percent year-on-year increase, while the total industrial output value of large-scale industries in the city was 95.53 billion yuan, marking an impressive 96.5 percent year-on-year growth.
The tourism market remained stable, and the modern service industry showed promise. Sanya received 13.78 million overnight visitors, with tourists spending a total of 48.21 billion yuan. Among them, the number of overnight inbound tourists increased by 2.65 times to 319,800, and the total spending of inbound tourists surged 5.3-fold to $225 million. The operating income of large-scale service industries in the city saw a 5.2 percent year-on-year growth.
Fixed asset investment in the city increased by 11.1 percent year-on-year. Specifically, private investment surged by 34 percent, while public service investment in the city grew by 8.1 percent, and industrial investment increased by 6.1 percent.
The local general public budget revenue in the city reached 8.08 billion yuan, showing an 11.3 percent year-on-year growth. The per capita disposable income of residents was 22,335 yuan, marking a 4.4 percent year-on-year growth rate.
