Summer travel season is currently in full swing. According to the latest data from China's online travel agency Ctrip, tourism reservations for Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, have surged by 174 percent year-on-year, placing it among the top 10 domestic summer travel destinations.
The top 10 domestic summer travel destinations now include Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Urumqi, Hangzhou, Xi'an, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Nanjing, and Guiyang.
Guiyang's Sanhe village is surrounded by lush green mountains and waters. At the beginning of last year, the village helped 18 households to transform idle houses into guesthouses, offering 200 rooms and 400 beds in total.
Yan Mingfu, Party secretary of Sanhe village, said that from June to October last year, the village received tourists from Hunan, Guangdong, Chongqing, and other regions. The guesthouses are rented out on a monthly basis, and are fully booked during peak travel periods, boosting the development of surrounding dining, entertainment, and retail industries.
Currently, reservations for Sanhe village's guesthouses are already booked through September.
Since the beginning of summer, the 2024 "Cool Guiyang" cultural and tourism promotion conferences have been held in cities like Shanghai and Hangzhou, with new cultural and tourism routes and activities gaining market favor.
