Shandong embraces outdoors with camping season initiative

Amidst the picturesque Taibai Lake New Area in Jining, Shandong province, the opening ceremony of the 2024 "Friendly Shandong" Camping Season was held on July 19, marking the start of a summer filled with outdoor adventures and unforgettable experiences.

The event took center stage by unveiling a captivating array of unique camping products, catering to the diverse preferences of outdoor enthusiasts.

A highlight was the launch of an AI-powered Shandong Camping Map, an interactive digital guide that encompasses 247 campsites across 16 cities in the province. This comprehensive map meticulously categorizes campsites based on their unique offerings, ranging from serene beachside retreats to stargazing havens, music-filled campsites, and immersive themed experiences.

With camping becoming increasingly popular among younger generations, particularly as a type of "micro-vacation" or "slow living" getaway, Shandong has recognized its potential as a transformative force within the tourism industry.
