The 2024 Danzhai Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) Series of Activities commenced in Danzhai county, Southwest China's Guizhou province, on July 21, and will last until July 26.
The event aims to consolidate the achievements of previous sessions of Danzhai Intangible Cultural Heritage Week, promote the preservation and development of Danzhai's ICH, enhance ethnic unity, and foster the integration of ICH with tourism.
The event includes activities such as ICH parades and performances, ICH series activities, Guangdong-Guizhou cultural exchange activities, and performances by the China Coal Mine Art Troupe.
Highlights include 11 activities, such as an ICH item exhibition, an ICH fashion show, an ICH costume competition, lusheng and bronze drum performances, rural recreational activities, and ICH traditional Chinese medical and Miao medical consultations.
Danzhai boasts eight national, 22 provincial, and 41 prefectural ICH projects, with 17 national traditional villages and 15 Chinese ethnic characteristic villages.
The event features ICH items from Danzhai itself, alongside contributions of national ICH items from other provinces in an effort to raise public awareness of the importance of ICH protection.
