AI teachers bring innovative calligraphy lessons to OVC's students

Two primary schools in the Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as Optics Valley of China, or OVC) are pioneering a new way for students to learn calligraphy with the help of "artificial intelligence (AI) teachers".

These AI teachers utilize advanced image recognition technology to analyze students' brushstrokes in real-time, providing personalized guidance and suggestions. With this AI assistance, students can grasp the fundamentals of calligraphy quickly and continuously improve their skills through practice.

The "AI Smart Calligraphy Classroom" is part of the "Smart Education Social Experiment" project initiated by OVC's National Comprehensive Base of Intelligent Social Governance Experiment. The system has already been deployed in OVC's No 18 Primary School and Huacheng Primary School.

With the rapid development of AI, the field of education is experiencing unprecedented changes. The "AI Smart Calligraphy Classroom" improves the educational model, not only allowing children to learn calligraphy in a relaxed and enjoyable environment but also igniting their passion for traditional culture.

In recent years, OVC has actively promoted the deep integration of AI and education, exploring new educational models in the intelligent era. "The introduction of the 'AI Smart Calligraphy Classroom' is a bold innovation which will shake up traditional education methods. We hope that through this method, more children will be exposed to and appreciate calligraphy while also cultivating their innovative thinking and practical abilities," said the school's information resource center director. Parents also highly commend this educational model, believing that their children are becoming more confident and focused thanks to the "AI Smart Calligraphy Classroom".
