More than 40 students from National Dong Hwa University, Soochow University, Feng Chia University, National Taiwan University, National Tsing Hua University, and National Chengchi University in Taiwan participated in a study camp a Xi'an Jiaotong University on July 8-13.

During their stay, they witnessed the grandeur of the Terracotta Warriors of the Emperor Qinshihuang, the first emperor of the Qin Dynasty (221-206 BC), admired the cultural treasures housed in the Xi'an Museum, explored the cutting-edge technological achievements of intelligent manufacturing enterprises, and listened to entrepreneurial tales of Taiwan compatriots in the Chinese mainland.

In addition to their academic pursuits, they spontaneously delved into the local customs and culture of Xi'an, riding bicycles through the streets to landmarks such as the Xi'an City Wall and the Bell Tower and donning traditional hanfu at the Great Tang Mall to experience a journey through time.

A civil engineering student from Feng Chia University paid special attention to the urban planning and architectural styles of the ancient city of Xi'an. He remarked, "Xi'an was once a bustling ancient capital, and the Xi'an we see today welcomes us into a brilliant modern era. It offers a perfect fusion of past and present."

The study camp has been successfully held 14 times since 2007, strengthening the bonds between Taiwan and the Chinese mainland as well as fostering mutual understanding.
