The Su-Tong Yangtze River Highway Bridge turns the former barrier of the Yangtze River into a thoroughfare, and connects Suzhou south of the river and Nantong in the north.
In addition, other cross-river channels are being built, including Zhangjiagang-Rugao, Haimen-Taicang, the second channel of Suzhou-Nantong. A transport layout of eight main channels across the Yangtze River will be formed during the 14th Fiver-Year Plan (2021-25).
