The Pudong Airport Free Trade Zone, part of the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone (SHFTZ), celebrated its 15th anniversary with an industry promotion conference on June 28.
The zone undertakes the functions of bonded logistics and airport freight transportation, as well as acts as a pioneering area for airport service industries. It is home to the distribution centers of well-known multinational corporations, including those that deal with electronic products, medical equipment, and luxury customer goods.
Zhao Feng, deputy director of the bonded zone management bureau of the SHFTZ Administration, emphasized the zone's rapid economic growth, industrial characteristics, and upcoming projects like the Oriental Hub Business Cooperation Zone and Shanghai Railway East Station. These developments aim to bolster the zone's status as a comprehensive bonded zone with diverse transportation advantages.
At the event, the zone highlighted that it plans to focus on high-tech industries like integrated circuits and aviation services. Its development plans emphasized the promotion of high-quality growth through key industries and efficient logistics. Customs officials also presented policies supporting the zone's development, focusing on tailored regulations and digitalized supervision methods.
