Shanghai is set to enhance public transport services to ensure the comfort and convenience of passengers navigating the bustling summer travel season, which lasts from July to August, underscoring the city's commitment to providing top-notch transportation services for its residents and visitors.
Shanghai's metro system has rolled out additional late-night services for the two metro lines that pass through Hongqiao Railway Station on weekends, already anticipating a surge in passenger traffic. From July 1 to Sept 1, the last train for Line 10 will depart from Hongqiao Railway Station at 12:20 am on Saturdays and on Mondays. Similarly, Line 17 will operate two additional late-night trains on Fridays and Sundays, departing from Hongqiao Railway Station at 11:15 pm and 11:30 pm.
In tandem with these metro enhancements, ground transportation services at the Hongqiao Transportation Hub will also be bolstered from Friday to Sunday throughout the summer travel rush. Additionally, special summer shuttle services tailored for college students commuting to and from six major locations for university campuses in Songjiang, Minhang and Fengxian districts, as well as in Lin-gang Special Area, Caolu, and Zhangjiang in Pudong New Area have been introduced. These shuttles will connect students to key transportation hubs such as Hongqiao Station, Shanghai Main Station, Shanghai South Station, and Shanghai Pudong International Airport, facilitating convenient and efficient travel experiences.
