In recent years, Tongzhou district in Nantong, Jiangsu province has attracted a growing number of enterprises, with one notable addition being Jiangsu NeuPower New Energy Technology Co Ltd.
On May 30 last year, the company's founder Huang Zhen and his team introduced a wind turbine generator project to Tongzhou.
Focusing on addressing offshore wind power transmission challenges, the project leverages proprietary high-temperature superconducting technology to develop high-temperature superconducting magnet products. These products have been tested and their technical specifications meet international standards. They feature over 10 authorized invention patents.
The proeject benefits from various preferential policies offered by Tongzhou, including a three-year rent-free offer for 1,000 square meters of factory space and government project subsidies exceeding 3 million yuan ($412,569).
Huang is confident about the project's development in Tongzhou. "The standardized factory building for the Tongzhou project is currently under rapid construction and renovation and is expected to be operational by September this year. The pilot production line equipment is expected to be fully installed and operational in the latter half of this year," he said.
Looking ahead, Huang hopes the company can establish a presence in the domestic offshore wind power market before expanding into international markets.
