During the 2024 World Artificial Intelligence Conference, held in Shanghai from July 4 to 7, Changning district hosted a promotional event to attract businesses.
Prominent attendees at the event included Ge Dongbo, deputy director of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, along with Lu Hao and Liao Guanghong, deputy district chiefs of Changning district.
Ge praised Changning's efforts in fostering a vibrant digital economy and innovative AI applications. He highlighted Shanghai's recent AI policy initiatives, which have led to significant growth in the number of AI enterprises and the industry's scale. Shanghai aims to further support AI development by providing a favorable environment for enterprises in terms of talent, infrastructure, and funding.
Lu gave an overview of the investment environment in Changning, emphasizing its focus on urban digital transformation. This strategy has attracted 700 AI-related companies in sectors such as speech recognition, image recognition, fintech, smart retail, smart home, gaming, and robotics. Changning has made breakthroughs in smart IoT innovation, logistics solutions, and autonomous driving technologies. The district aims to attract more enterprises to seize more development opportunities.
Changning's vision of becoming a smart city was given a boost during the event, when three local AI companies showcased new products and technologies related to intelligent driving, unmanned parking, and motor drive chips.
During the signing ceremony, six newly introduced enterprises signed agreements with Changning district, aiming to further promote the development of its AI industry cluster.
The 2024 WAIC focused on significant topics, such as AI ethics governance and large models, and has registered a record number of participating companies and debut projects. Changning district showcased its leading AI companies and emerging enterprises with technical advantages, demonstrating the forefront of AI development.
