Nearly 30 representatives from leading medical and health industry associations and companies in Switzerland gathered at the Hainan Free Trade Port Medical and Health Industry Exchange Meeting in Zurich on Thursday.
The Hainan Provincial Government and Switzerland Global Enterprise jointly organized the event.
During the meeting, the Hainan delegation underscored the significance of the medical and health industry as a strategic emerging sector in the island province, highlighting its open industrial development environment, expansive industry prospects, and robust industry foundation. Detailed explanations were given on the preferential policies and systems established at the Hainan Free Trade Port and the innovative policies of the Boao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone, serving as China's only special medical zone. Cooperation development paths and successful case studies were also introduced, shedding light on the collaborative efforts driving progress in the field.
Throughout the exchange, many representatives voiced their excitement for the Hainan Free Trade Port as a pivotal entry point for China's reform and opening-up. They recognized that remarkable advancements have already been realized in Hainan's biopharmaceuticals and medical health sectors and pledged to increase investment in the Hainan Free Trade Port.
The conference featured signing ceremonies, with Sonova partnering with the Boao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone, Hainan Su Sheng Biotechnology Co collaborating with Switzerland's Industrie Biomediche Insubri SA, and Winhealth Pharma teaming up with Dr Dünner AG. Switzerland Global Enterprise and the Hainan International Economic Development Bureau solidified their partnership by signing a memorandum of understanding on cooperation, reinforcing efforts to foster communication and collaboration between the Hainan Free Trade Port and Switzerland within the life sciences medical health industry. The agreement aims to facilitate mutual benefits and yield win-win outcomes for both regions. Looking ahead, the two parties are committed to enhancing communication and cooperation, working hand in hand to spur innovation and advancement in the life sciences and medical health sector.
