The 2024 Egyptian Youth Cultural Summer Camp commenced in Quzhou, Zhejiang province, on July 4.

More than 20 students from Egyptian universities, including Ain Shams University and Cairo University, gathered to immerse themselves in the charm of Quzhou's Southern Confucian and Go cultures.

At the opening ceremony, students watched videos showcasing the city's stunning landscapes and unique cultural heritage, as well as the vibrant campus life at Quzhou University.

Zheng Wenshan, vice president of Quzhou University, delivered a welcome speech, emphasizing the university's commitment to fostering cultural, educational, and research exchanges with partner institutions both online and in-person.

Zhu Yuntu, representing the Quzhou Go Promotion Association, highlighted the city's significance as a key origin of Go culture and its strong ties with over 30 Go organizations across Europe, America, and Asia.

Zhu expressed hope that the camp would allow participants to truly experience the allure of Go and the richness of traditional Chinese culture.

Kong Lingli, the 76th-generation direct descendant of Confucius (551-479 BC), encouraged the youth to explore the unique values and charm of Confucian culture and act as a bridge to enhance cultural exchange and cooperation between China and Egypt.
