As the port of Sanya Phoenix International Airport marks the one-year anniversary of its reopening, the number of inbound and outbound passengers has surpassed 380,000.
At 3 am on July 1, passengers boarding Flight VU1417 from Sanya to Hanoi, Vietnam, cleared immigration at the efficient and quick Phoenix border checkpoint, signifying a full year since the reopening of the port.
Since the resumption of operations, the passenger flow at the port has increased from 11,000 in the first month to an average of 31,000 per month currently. The immigration checkpoint has processed over 380,000 inbound and outbound passengers and 2,600 flights, with a peak daily passenger count of nearly 1,500. The top five sources of inbound tourists are Russia, South Korea, Malaysia, Mongolia, and Hong Kong, China.
Sanya's international flight network has been steadily expanding, with the airport now operating passenger routes to 16 cities in 14 countries and regions, including Seoul, Jakarta, Almaty, Astana, Busan, Bangkok, Hanoi, Ulaanbaatar, Phnom Penh, Singapore, Moscow, and Krasnoyarsk, covering key tourist sources in Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia, and Central Asia.
