Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport, in collaboration with Shandong Airlines, launched its first international express route, the Qingdao-Seoul Express, on June 28. This new service offers passengers a convenient and seamless travel experience, featuring exclusive check-in counters, baggage claim carousels and convenient boarding gates at the airport.
According to Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport, passengers involved in the new service can enjoy the flexibility of free same-day flight changes to other Shandong Airlines flights, allowing for a hassle-free journey from Qingdao to Seoul.
In recent years, the Qingdao airport has collaborated with domestic and international airlines, including Shandong Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, Qingdao Airlines and Korean Air, to open Qingdao-Seoul routes.
With 32 daily round-trip flights, it has become the third-busiest international route in the country, with Qingdao to Seoul flights ranking first nationwide.
In addition to Seoul, the airport also operates stable services to Busan, Tokyo and Osaka, with an average of 41 round-trip flights connecting Qingdao with Japan and ROK cities every day.
Furthermore, Jiaodong Airport has been enhancing its domestic express network, offering over 10 daily express routes to key cities such as Shanghai, Hangzhou, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Chongqing, Harbin, Shenyang, Wuhan and Xi'an during the summer and autumn seasons.
The development of these express routes has significantly boosted aviation transportation, with a 19 percent increase in flight movements and a 28 percent rise in passenger throughput compared to the previous year, the Qingdao airport said.
