Shanghai launches exciting 'Shanghai Summer' intl consumption season

Shanghai is set to dazzle both local and international visitors this summer with the launch of the "Shanghai Summer" international consumption season. The event promises a vibrant lineup of activities and shopping offers, making the city a must-visit destination.

The consumption promotion event was officially introduced on June 21 at a ceremony jointly held by the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce and the Information Office of Shanghai Municipality, extending a warm invitation to global consumers to come and explore Shanghai's lively summer atmosphere.

Running from the first weekend of July to the second weekend of October, "Shanghai Summer" will feature a captivating array of activities. Highlights include seven major international events such as the "On the top of Pyramid: the Civilization of Ancient Egypt" exhibition, the inaugural Shanghai International Cruise Festival, the Shanghai Tourism Festival, the Shanghai International Light Festival, and the Shanghai International Electronic Music Festival.

Additionally, the season will offer 58 key activities with both domestic and international appeal, including performances by the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra and Blue Man Group, as well as the MXGP World Motocross World Championship.

To help visitors make the most of their stay, the "Shanghai Summer" Smart Activity Schedule has been launched, accessible via the "I GO Shanghai" mini-program on WeChat. This platform provides intelligent itinerary planning, information services, and bilingual voice consultation in both Mandarin and English.
