The automotive inspection and testing chain in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) is robust, with the volume of inspection and testing services ranking among the top in the country. Export vehicles from across the nation can complete mandatory inspections within the zone and be approved for overseas shipment.
Recently, a commercial vehicle produced by a WEDZ company completed more than 50 tests across the auto industrial chain, including braking, electromagnetic compatibility, noise, steering, and power, at CATARC Automotive Inspection Center (Wuhan) Co. This testing process covered almost all inspection items required for the vehicle to be sold overseas.

Through policy support and proactive investment attraction, the zone has introduced a number of internationally renowned testing and certification companies over the past five years, with the annual output value increasing from 1.5 billion yuan ($210.6 million) to nearly 3 billion yuan.
WEDZ is home to 10 complete vehicle manufacturers and over 1,200 auto parts companies, producing more than one million vehicles annually. Currently, automotive and parts companies within the zone and from across the country can enjoy full industrial chain testing and certification services without leaving the zone.
