According to a news conference held on May 31, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, will launch more than 800 cultural, commercial, educational, sports, and travel activities during this year's summer tourism season.
In recent years, Guiyang has won various honors as a summer resort. Last summer, it topped the list of the trending destinations for "summer + travel" on travel service platform Mafengwo.
It was also included on the "2023 preferred summer tourism destinations" list released by the China Tourism Academy and the public meteorological service center of the China Meteorological Administration, as well as the list of "China's top 10 must-visit cities" released at World Travel Market London 2023.
Currently, Guiyang has 12 municipal key summer resort demonstration sites and 43 district and county-level resort sites, forming a diverse and distinctive summer resort product system.
With the arrival of the peak summer tourism season, the city will launch a series of tourism products to help people avoid the summer heat.
Meanwhile, Guiyang will also launch more than 800 cultural, commercial, educational, sports, and tourism activities. These include the Tianhetan summer-themed fireworks show, the first water-land-air canyon crossing challenge at Nanjiang Grand Canyon, and the Taoyuan River summer drift race.
In addition, Guiyang's roadside concerts will be held regularly, bringing visitors a visual and auditory feast.
To make life more convenient for tourists, Guiyang has launched the "Shuangyou Lyuju" WeChat mini-program, which allows tourists to book their favorite summer tourism products and enjoy one-stop services.
Moving forward, Guiyang will continue to improve summer tourism products and optimize the city's public services to better meet the diverse and personalized needs of tourists, fully demonstrating the unique charm of "Cool Guiyang."
