This group of illustrations is inspired by the Song Dynasty (960-1279) poem Like a Dream Verse: Often Recall Creek-Side Pavilion at Dusk written by Li Qingzhao (1085-1155). The overall tone of the illustrations is fresh and elegant. The blank space on the water surface contrasts sharply with the dense lotus leaves, creating a visual contrast between emptiness and solidity. This balance appears natural and breathable, evoking a sense of comfort and offering ample room for imagination. The exaggerated technique of enlarging the lotus leaves while reducing the size of the human figure creates a sense of oppression, highlighting the anxiety of "straying deep into the lotus flowers" and the depth and lushness of the leaves.
