The Jinan Alumni Economic Development Promotion Association held its first meeting on June 11 and elected the association's first board of directors.
The event was attended by representatives from Shandong Peking University, officials responsible for alumni affairs at Shandong University, representatives from the Shandong (Jinan) alumni associations of over 80 universities, including Harbin Institute of Technology, Renmin University of China, and Nankai University, and representatives from local universities in Jinan.
The association has so far attracted 118 members, including both organizations and individuals, representing distinguished alumni from over 80 universities. By leveraging the "alumni network", Jinan aims to expand its "circle of friends" and enhance its influence.
In recent years, Jinan has accelerated its efforts to develop an "alumni economy".
At the beginning of this year, the city established an integrated alumni economic work mechanism and formulated 20 measures to support the development of the alumni economy in the new era.
The second "Haiyou Talent Festival", which was set to open on June 12 and will last for one month, will feature the Jinan alumni economic innovation development conference at its opening ceremony. Throughout the talent festival, which focuses on talent and alumni economies, there will be 30 special alumni economic events.
