According to news from the Department of Commerce of Guizhou Province on June 11, during the Dragon Boat Festival on June 8-10, the province reported a total of 11.92 billion yuan ($1.68 billion) in consumption revenue, up 3.52 percent year-on-year, and saw 22.56 million shoppers, an increase of 4.51 percent.
During the festival, all commerce systems at all levels in Guizhou leveraged the peak tourist season of the summer holiday and arranged a slew of sales promotion events to invigorate the local consumption market.
Moving forward, staff members of the department will continue promoting old-for-new services for consumer goods, provide subsidies for trading in automobiles and home appliances, and find more convenient ways to recycle old stuff.
Major e-commerce platforms are encouraged to seize opportunities at the upcoming shopping festival on June 18 and double down on sales promotion efforts, helping more Guizhou products go global.
