The China Railway Hohhot Bureau has announced that during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, it will schedule 42 pairs of high-speed trains daily between Hohhot, Baotou, and Beijing to meet the increased travel demands of passengers.
This year's Dragon Boat Festival holiday will last from June 8 to 10.
The Dragon Boat Festival holiday will see a surge in travel demand among passengers traveling from the central and western regions of Inner Mongolia to Beijing and for short-distance intercity travel within the region.
Meanwhile, in a bid to facilitate travelers heading to the grasslands, the Hohhot Bureau will operate seven pairs of temporary passenger trains, including routes from Baotou to Shenzhen East, Baotou to Hangzhou, Baotou to Guangzhou, Baotou to Yinchuan, Hohhot East to Linfen (Taiyuan), and two pairs from Baotou to Datong.
To cater to the short-distance travel needs between cities in the central and western regions of Inner Mongolia, additional services will include two pairs of intercity trains from Hohhot East to Linhe and Hohhot East to Ordos, as well as middle and short-distance passenger trains from Baotou to Hohhot East, Hohhot East to Bayan Gaole, Bayan Gaole to Baotou, Baotou to Fengzhen, and Baotou to Jining South.
The increased train services aim to enhance travel convenience and connectivity for passengers during the holiday period, ensuring a smooth and efficient transportation experience for all travelers in the region.
