The main bridge deck asphalt pavement of the Shennan Road Bridge was completed on May 29, marking the comprehensive connection of the main road surface of the project.
This signifies that the largest single-bridge steel structure in Nantong, Jiangsu province, is entering the final countdown phase to its opening.
The bridge design required over 7,000 metric tons of steel, with all steel components of the bridge assembled using approximately 135,000 high-strength bolts. The bridge paving team utilized advanced paving techniques to ensure the asphalt layer was both smooth and durable.
The bridge connects the Pingchao area of Tongzhou district with the western part of Chongchuan district. It is a major urban road, featuring six lanes in both directions, with both non-motorized vehicle lanes and sidewalks on both sides.
The bridge will further enhance the transportation network in the Nantongxi Railway Station area, making it easier for locals to get around.
