The China (Xi'an)-Hungary Economic and Trade Cooperation Exchange Conference was held in Budapest, capital of Hungary, on June 3, with over 100 representatives from Xi'an and Hungarian enterprises in attendance.
At the conference, Liu Bo, minister counsellor for economic and commercial at the Embassy of China in Hungary, said that in recent years, practical economic and trade cooperation between China and Hungary has rapidly expanded. Hungary has maintained its position as one of China's most important trading partners in Central and Eastern Europe, while China remains Hungary's largest trading partner outside the European Union.
Liu said he believed that cooperation between Xi'an and Hungary will continue to strengthen.
Li Jing, deputy secretary of the CPC Xi'an Municipal Committee, highlighted that both Xi'an and Budapest are renowned ancient cities with distinct advantages in terms of location, technology, industry, and culture, leading to strong prospects for cooperation.
Governor of Gyor-Moson-Sopron County,Hungary, welcomed more Xi'an enterprises to cooperate with the county in modern agriculture and food processing, mechanical manufacturing, geothermal and photovoltaic energy, as well as tourism.
During the conference, the Xi'an municipal bureau of investment promotion presented an overview of Xi'an's investment environment, while the Xi'an development and reform commission and the Hungarian-Chinese Economic and Trade Association signed a memorandum of cooperation to focus on industrial development and broader economic and trade exchanges between Xi'an and Hungary.
