A 5G-A drone flew from Xingyu Road to the Nantong Institute of Technology in Nantong, Jiangsu province, on May 30, marking the launch of the city's first drone delivery route.
In collaboration with SF Express, the Nantong branch of China Mobile has created a professional route for low-altitude logistics transport.
Smooth take-off and landing, stable flight, and safe delivery were achieved after a full-process test.
Drones with 5G-A technology are capable of sensing and recognizing their surrounding environment and targets more accurately. Free from interference between ground and low altitude, such drones boast more stable signals.
The Nantong branch has initiated the development of a 5G low-altitude private network, and the first batch of 22 5G-A low-altitude base stations have put into service, covering the main urban area in Nantong.
Thanks to the 5G-A drone delivery route, half-day delivery will be realized in downtown Nantong in the near future.
