The friendship between Wuxi in Jiangsu and Belgium grows stronger over time through their common pursuit of human welfare and progress.
In Ecaussinnes, Belgium, there is a road called Rue Madame Perlinghi-Tsien, named after Wuxi native Qian Xiuling, who saved more than 100 Belgians from the Nazis during World War II.

Her good deeds have also helped Wuxi and Belgium form a special bond.
After the efforts of generations of the peoples of Wuxi and Belgium, the two places have yielded numerous fruits from collaboration in the fields of trade, education, culture, and talent cultivation.

In 2023, Wuxi's trade with Belgium was valued at $780 million. As of the end of last year, Belgium had approved the establishment of 23 enterprises in Wuxi with a combined investment of $330 million. Meanwhile, as of April this year, Wuxi companies had provided investment in three projects in Belgium worth a total of $69.12 million.
