New energy storage power station successfully connected to grid in Xinwu

A new grid-side energy storage power station located in Meicun sub-district, Xinwu district, Wuxi was successfully connected to the grid on May 30, marking the start of operations for Wuxi's first large-scale grid-side energy storage power station.

The station, funded and built by Wuxi Xinhualan Energy Storage Technology, received a total of about 210 million yuan ($28.98 million) in investment. With an installed capacity of 50 megawatts and a storage capacity of 100 megawatt-hours, the station can meet the needs of around 10,000 households or 100 small enterprises with an installed capacity of 500 kilowatts each.

Due to new energy storage technologies, the power station was much cheaper and quicker to build than previously, and operational efficiency is much higher.

The energy storage power station will effectively alleviate the pressure of load management during peak summer months in Xinwu, reduce the impact on enterprises, and enhance the flexibility, reliability, and safety of the regional grid.
