Sanya airport serves over 200,000 intl passengers this year

As of May 28 since this year, the number of international passengers at Sanya Phoenix International Airport has exceeded 200,000, with an average monthly volume of 42,000, marking a 55.6-percent year-on-year increase compared to 2020.

The growth can be attributed to the adjustment of entry and exit policies and the implementation of China's visa-free policy. The inbound foreign passengers has reached 77,000 since the start of the year, reflecting an 87 percent increase compared to 2020. Among these visitors, 96 percent benefited from the visa-free entry policy. Most outbound tourists from the Chinese mainland are heading to destinations like Hong Kong, Thailand, and Singapore for leisure travel.
