The opening ceremony of the Dalian cooperation center of the Russian Export Center was held at the RCEP Service Center in the Dalian Area of the China (Liaoning) Pilot Free Trade Zone. This is the first regional cooperation center established by the Russian Export Center in China.
The Russian Export Center, established by the Russian government in 2015, is a state-owned institution that primarily focuses upon promoting the export of Russian non-energy products and services. It provides comprehensive support for Russian export enterprises, from market exploration and financial supply chain services to the signing and implementation of export contracts.
The Dalian cooperation center of the Russian Export Center, established by the Russian Export Center and Dalian Tieyue Group, aims to promote cooperation between Chinese and Russian enterprises and attract more Russian investment into Dalian. It mainly focuses on China-Russia business matching, China-Russia cultural and people-to-people exchanges and exhibition cooperation. It also provides consultation on various types of visas and qualifications for Chinese and Russian entities.
In 2023, Dalian saw rapid growth in trade with Russia. The trade volume reached 43.6 billion yuan ($6.02 billion), up 64 percent year-on-year, accounting for 80 percent of the trade volume between Liaoning province and Russia. Imports amounted to 36.8 billion yuan, representing 85 percent of the total trade volume. As Dalian's main economic engine and a key hub for opening up, Jinpu has emerged as the core area for cooperation with Russia.
