Guiyang has seen a steady increase in urban rail transit passenger volume and bus ridership this year.
From February to April, the total passenger volume for Guiyang's three urban rail transit lines reached 52.76 million, 7.30 million more than the same period last year.
In addition to urban rail transit, buses have also contributed to the increase.
This growth is partly due to the recently-launched "Qianshuang Bus" tourism line by Guiyang Bus Express Tourism Co, a wholly State-owned subsidiary of Guiyang Public Transport Group.
Since its launch, the "Qianshuang Bus" has offered efficient and convenient services, such as the "Guiyang City-Gui'an New Area Cherry Blossom Festival" tour line and the Yongle Flower Sea day tour line, which have been well-received by both residents and tourists.
"This year, my wife and I took the Qianshuang Bus to the Gui'an Cherry Blossom Garden for just 45 yuan ($6.2) per person, and the shuttle bus within the garden was free, saving us a lot of time and money," said Zhou Qiang, a resident in Guiyang.
He Jixu, a bus data analyst at Guiyang Public Transport Group, reported that this spring, the passenger volume of the "Qianshuang Bus" reached 4,274.
