Dongping hosts national fitness walking event

The Dongping session of the national "Walking along the Grand Canal" fitness walking event was held on May 26 by the shore of Dongping Lake in Tai'an, attracting over 4,000 participants from provinces including Shandong, Hebei, Jiangsu, and Henan.

The event consisted of a 10-kilometer happiness run and an 8-kilometer fitness walk.

The course was set along the north side of Dongping Lake, starting from the Dongping Dasong Everbright Town, a major cultural tourism program characterized with life in the Song Dynasty (960-1279).

Participants passed through various scenic spots including the Dongping Dasong Everbright Town, the wharf in the Water Margin Ancient Town, and the Dongping Lake National Wetland Park, enjoying the shimmering Dongping Lake on one side and lush greenery on the other.

In recent years, Dongping county has been enhancing its cultural tourism by organizing various events such as the lake marathons and international dragon boat races, promoting the in-depth integration of sports and tourism.
