The Bodu River came alive with the excitement of dragon boat, kayak, and paddleboard races in Wuxi New District, also known as Xinwu district, on May 25.
The event drew over 300 water sports enthusiasts from various sub-districts and enterprises, with corporate participation doubling from last year. More than 30 prominent companies, including Jabil Circuit Wuxi and NTT Data China, actively joined the competition.

The event featured a special smart rowing machine experience area, where participants and spectators could engage with the innovative fusion of technology and sports. Utilizing advanced sensor technology and data analysis, the smart rowing machines offered a scientific and efficient training platform for rowing enthusiasts while making it easy for newcomers to enjoy the sport.
A vibrant intangible cultural heritage market was also set up at the event, highlighting the rich cultural heritage and traditional charm of WND. Visitors to the market were able to experience various cultural heritage items, including lifelike clay figurines, sugar paintings, lacquer fans, and handmade erhu (Chinese two-stringed instrument).

In recent years, WND has been enhancing fitness facilities, diversifying sports activities, and optimizing services to bring exercise opportunities closer to the community. The newly opened Tennis Sports Center is already in operation along the Bodu River and, by the end of this year, a new sports center will be completed, further enriching the local sports landscape.
