The Wuhan Economic Development Zone, which was built for the automobile industry, has achieved a "triple jump" from one car and one enterprise to a large industrial cluster after more than 30 years of development. Both the total vehicle output and production value account for more than 70 percent of Wuhan's total. Currently, the zone is home to nine auto enterprises, 14 vehicle factories and more than 1,200 automotive parts enterprises, producing more than 1 million vehicles annually. It is renowned as the "Auto Valley of China".
