The 24-square-kilometer Wuxi Zero Carbon Technology Industrial Park, inaugurated in May 2021 in Wuxi National Hi-Tech District, was the first of its kind in Jiangsu province. After three years, the park's per capita carbon emissions have been reduced to about half of Wuxi's average.
Currently, the industrial park hosts nearly 300 enterprises related to low-carbon industries and plans to increase the number to 500 by the end of 2025. The energy storage sector in the park, covering areas such as technology research and development, component design, product sales, and testing and certification, is growing particularly rapidly.
One of the park's standout companies, Solinteg, offers solutions to upgrade photovoltaic systems to photovoltaic storage systems. Additionally, the company's smart monitoring equipment optimizes power generation, storage, and usage, enhancing photovoltaic utilization and reducing electricity costs.
The rapid development of enterprises within the park has garnered attention both domestically and internationally. Recently, SIMT, a company specializing in sodium-ion battery cathode materials, was invited to the 2024 International Green Technology Summit in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, to engage with global new energy companies, laying the groundwork for international cooperation.
SIMT established its headquarters in the Wuxi Zero Carbon Technology Industrial Park last year with a total investment of about 500 million yuan ($69.02 million). The company is collaborating with renowned universities in Germany and Italy to establish a European new energy materials research center, further enhancing Wuxi National Hi-Tech District's influence in the global new energy industry.
