A record number of industry and commerce groups and companies from Taiwan participated in the 26th Cross-Strait Fair for Economy and Trade, held from May 16 to 19 in Fuzhou, the capital of East China's Fujian province.
The four-day fair attracted 65 industry and commerce groups from Taiwan, 34 Taiwan investors' associations on the Chinese mainland, and 1,032 Taiwan compatriots.
During the event, a total of 62 promotion and negotiation events were held. Additionally, product supply and demand matchmaking meetings for Taiwan businesses took place. These events attracted 326 Taiwan-based companies, Taiwan-invested enterprises on the mainland, and 244 Taiwan businessmen.
As a result, 5.043 billion yuan ($696 million) worth of supply and purchase agreements and intended sales contracts were reached, of which 1.02 billion yuan were connected to Taiwan businesses.
Fuzhou simultaneously hosted a global investment promotion conference, attracting nearly a thousand companies, including some from the Fortune Global 500 and China's top 500 enterprises.
Other successes included 77 projects receiving a total investment amount of 123.5 billion yuan, with a record high of 20 Taiwan-invested projects receiving 9.6 billion yuan.
During the event, Fuzhou released 10 policies aimed at enhancing industrial cooperation with Matsu and providing Matsu residents with more convenience and support in areas such as studying, working, starting businesses, certificate accreditation and financial services.
