When the China-Central Asia Summit's one-year anniversary arrived, the Central Asia Park opened on May 19 in Xi'an, Shaanxi province.
The park covers an area of 56,000 square meters and centers on the theme of the summit and the Belt and Road Initiative.
It aims to build a trade and people-to-people exchange platform for China and Central Asia countries in terms of food, cultural exchange, trade discussion and tourism promotion.
Sun Yimin, a senior Xi'an Chanba International Port official, said that the opening of the Central Asia Park is a practical measure to implement the spirit of the China-Central Asia Summit.
He said it also responds to the needs of entrepreneurs and friends from countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative for business negotiations and investment in Xi'an.
Yang Bing, director of the port's management committee, said the Central Asia Park, adjacent to the summit venue and situated along the banks of the Bahe River, has been transformed from the original exhibition park.
It consists of three main functional sections: a landscape area, a Silk Road reception lounge, and a Central Asian-themed dining area.
It serves as an important platform for cultural, economic and trade exchanges between countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, he said.
