A painting and photo exhibition was launched in Zhanjiang, Guangdong province, on Wednesday to mark the 20th anniversary of the establishment of sister city relations between the southern coastal city and Australia's Cairns.
With high-level opening-up and high-quality green development being promoted in the city, Zhanjiang looks forward to more extensive exchanges and deeper cooperation with Cairns, according to Zheng Haoran, head of the publicity department of the city's Party committee, at the launching ceremony for the exhibition.
Cairns, the first sister city of Zhanjiang, was followed by 19 foreign cities in forging ties with Zhanjiang.
The 10-day exhibition is being staged at the OCT City Bay Zhanjiang Cultural Tourism Exhibition Center.
