From 2014 to 2016, San Su Shrine underwent a comprehensive renovation, the largest, most thorough, and most extensive one in the shrine’s history. Without altering the original state of the cultural relics, traditional craftsmanship was primarily used to thoroughly clean, reinforce, and repair 16 ancient buildings. This effort completely restored the architectural features and historical appearance of the San Su Shrine.
This episode documents the conservation process from the perspective of Zhao Hanru, the designer of ancient architectures, and narrates the dedication of grassroots cultural preservation and museum staff to protecting the San Su Shrine. It also showcases the unique beauty of this famous garden architecture in western Sichuan.
