Diplomatic envoys explore Chongqing Haifu Medical Tech in Liangjiang New Area

On May 18, during the "China, An Opportunity: Chongqing Brands Global Promotion" Diplomatic Envoys' Trip to Chongqing, the envoys visited Chongqing Haifu Medical Technology Co in Liangjiang New Area and gained an in-depth understanding of Chongqing's achievements in technology and innovation.

The envoys visited Chongqing Haifu Medical Technology to observe the city's significant advancements in high-tech medical fields, particular in High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) technology.

The locally-nurtured Haifu is recognized as a global pioneer in ultrasound therapy and has served 32 countries and regions worldwide since 1997, when the company developed the first HIFU system to be invented in China with complete intellectual property rights.

As demonstrated in the Haifu technology exhibition hall, HIFU is a non-invasive therapeutic technique that uses ultrasonic waves to ablate tissue and thus treats certain conditions, such as malignant tumors and benign uterine fibroids.

This technology highlights the competitiveness and innovation of Chongqing enterprises in the global medical technology sector, offering less invasive treatment options for patients. 

Michael Rene Campbell Hooker, Nicaraguan ambassador to China, stated that since 2007, Nicaragua has been heavily investing in its healthcare sector. "Healthcare in Nicaragua is free, and we provide comprehensive services ranging from vaccinations to oncology preventive care. Therefore, partnering with Haifu Technology and companies in Chongqing is an absolute priority for us. This technology is highly appealing to Nicaragua and other developing countries." He praised the revolutionary advancement of ultrasound-focused surgery equipment and exchanged WeChat contact info with the sales manager of Haifu, aiming to pursue further cooperation.

Envoys subsequently gained a comprehensive understanding of how Haifu has been actively spreading its technology by training medical professionals and offering remote diagnoses and clinical support. So far, Haifu has treated a total of 280 thousand patients worldwide and continuously accomplished its core value of minimizing the pain experienced by patients around the world.

The visit demonstrated the flourishing technological development of Liangjiang New Area and further strengthened the diverse technological exchanges and collaborations between participating nations and Chongqing.
