Maoming and Gaozhou pulled together to build the Baiqiao Litchi Expo Park, while also exploring the integrated development of agriculture, culture, transportation, tourism and business to promote rural vitalization.
Baiqiao Litchi Expo Park covers an area of over 15,000 mu (1,000 hectares), replete with “red culture”, agricultural products, and natural landscape resources. The governors aimed at building three themed zones: one for study, one for promising industries, and another for new services.
The promising industry zone focuses on the litchi industry. It will help to consolidate and improve international platforms like the China Litchi Exhibition Center and the permanent venue for the China Litchi & Longan Industry Conference. It will also showcase the promising results of China's litchi industry and activate cultural heritage to preserve the nation's litchi and longan culture, enabling industrial development in tandem with culture.
The park focuses on green culture. It will build national boutique villages for tourism, continuously improve other supporting facilities like campsites and hotels, explore natural landscapes, and promote the quality upgrading of projects for the service area. It will also create photo hotspots for tourists and display Maoming's culture to promote rural vitalization and boost farmers' incomes.
